In the new establishment Wijck, at Grote Markt 33 in Groningen, Petra F.M. Sluijters has created an impressive mural titled “Onderstroom”. She painted directly onto the concrete surface, using a deep magenta color as the base, a nod to the old building that once stood here. The arch refers to the architecture of Wijck's building. It is clearly not mere decoration, but a powerful living presence that moves along with the energy of the space: celebrations, encounters, and unexpected turns. It connects old and new, above and below, stillness and movement, an ode to layering, both literally and figuratively.

The artwork is accompanied by a poem written by Petra. And, just like in all her other works, a hidden film is embedded here as well, which can be revealed through the app.
